eleXsys features in major BBC World series on humanising energy
January 14, 2022

eleXsys Energy is proud to feature in the latest episode of BBC StoryWorks: Humanising Energy series, which explores how energy use is shaping our lives and our planet, and the people behind the latest technologies building cleaner energy solutions.
Our story joined the series on Thursday 20th January and is now featured alongside some of the great innovators and innovations around the world that are reshaping the way in which we use energy.
Our CEO, Dr Bevan Holcombe, shares some of the exciting features and applications of our breakthrough technology while IKEA Australia and New Zealand CEO Jan Gardberg also joins the conversation to share insights into the installation of a collaborative microgrid project between IKEA and eleXsys at its Adelaide location.
“It is incredibly exciting to be able to create – for the first time for IKEA – a microgrid set up to be able to give us 100% renewable energy for our retail operations and feed the excess power to the grid to decarbonise,” Jan tells BBC World.
This project is a world first for the Swedish furniture chain, which is working closely with eleXsys to install more than 3,000 solar panels and a 3.4 MWh battery bank at the retail store, combining commercial-scale solar PV and batteries with the eleXsys solution.
We were also so glad to share the story of eleXsys Design Engineer, Pari Akbari, and her journey with our business.
